Machu Picchu’s foundation stones fit tighter than the walls built on top.. so who built what? Joe Rogan and researcher Timothy Alberino discuss the megalithic stonework at Machu Picchu, Sacsayhuamán and Ollantaytambo, including joints so tight you couldn’t pass a butter knife between them and a stone that curves into a corner. Alberino argues the Inca built on top of older foundations, notes that much of Machu Picchu today is reconstruction, and says there’s no record of the Inca building the Sacsayhuamán walls. He also says Quechua and Aymara descendants credit giants with building these sites, though he says he doesn’t necessarily think giants built everything.
