Description

If you want to walk up into this country and come back down alive: www.Otisboone.com In these mountains, people really did shoot witches. And the witch they aimed at was never some stranger on a broom. She was the woman up the road, and one wrong guess killed an innocent neighbor. In this video, I'll walk you through the signs mountain folks watched for: tangles in your hair, waking up unable to move, and horses' manes tied in knots by morning. You'll hear how a woman was said to become a witch, the one thing you never hand a neighbor, and the East Tennessee story of Witch McGaha. There's the 1794 Wizard Clip haunting in Middleway, West Virginia, where invisible shears cut a family's clothes into half moons. And there's how the old folks fought back, with horseshoes, silver bullets, and a witch's picture shot on the highest mountain around. Then the real cases: the Cross Creek shooting around 1810, the Abingdon, Virginia killing of 1838, the Blue Ridge witch of Tilley Bend Church in Georgia, and the Witch of Hinds Road in Alabama. Finally, the silver-bullet test that told them, for certain, which neighbor it was. Along the way: the Bell Witch, Spearfinger, and the Raven Mocker.
