Tower of London: Superbloom in Peril and Yeoman Warders' Jubilee Medal

A thousand years of rituals meet a once-in-a-lifetime year. Go behind the gates as drought threatens the Tower of London’s Superbloom and the Yeoman Warders prepare for an honour few will ever receive. From the 9am unlocking with the Queen’s Keys to a secret daily password, the Tower’s routines face an unexpected test: weeks without rain. Professor Nigel Dunnett scrambles to save 20 million seeds, a last-minute turf plan appears, and the world’s media arrives early. Meanwhile, the ravens live up to their legend (keep an eye on Poppy), and a new exhibition in the Martin Tower spotlights the Beefeaters’ iconic uniform and traditions. In Birmingham, Timothy Node’s Platinum Jubilee Medal design is struck before a private ceremony on Tower Green changes everything for the Warders. Witness the pressure, pride, and surprising moments you won’t see on the postcards. Watch to discover what worked, what almost didn’t, and why this extraordinary year at the Tower mattered. Watch the full episode to see how it all unfolds inside one of Britain’s most storied fortresses. #TowerOfLondon #Superbloom #PlatinumJubilee #YeomanWarders #Ravens #CrownJewels #HistoryDocumentary
