Inside NYC's Slipper Room: From Rottweiler Attack to Burlesque

A near-fatal bite. A life-changing decision. Step inside New York’s Slipper Room as performers turn shock, satire, and survival into unforgettable burlesque. This intimate look follows backstage chaos to center-stage bravado: a performer’s Rottweiler attack that sparked her quit-the-9-to-5 moment, Tigger’s fearless protest acts, and why pasties became law-bending art. Hear candid stories about audience boundaries gone wrong, illegal weddings turned activism, Coney Island costume rules, and how legends like Dirty Martini and World Famous Bob shaped a scene where misfits found power, humor, and glamour. It’s raw, funny, and deeply human. If you think you know burlesque, you haven’t seen the invisible fan dance, the dildo wedding, or the poem that insists you must be drunk on art. Watch to discover how New York’s artists keep creating under pressure, why this fishbowl fame still matters, and the single realization that changed everything. Press play for a backstage pass to resilience, reinvention, and the wild heart of NYC burlesque. #burlesque #NYC #SlipperRoom #DirtyMartini #Tigger #Documentary #LGBTQ
