Description

Billy Squier and his touring band launch into "Lonely Is the Night," driven by drummer Bobby Chouinard’s heavy snare pocket before Squier and guitarist Kevin Borich drop into the song’s iconic hard-rock guitar riff. Pacing the stage at the Santa Monica Civic Auditorium, Squier delivers the opening lyrics with raw vocal power, supported by bassist Mark Clarke and keyboardist Alan St. Jon in a tight, unpolished performance that captures the energy of early 1980s arena rock. Recorded live on November 20, 1981, at the Santa Monica Civic Auditorium in Santa Monica, California, this concert was filmed for television and nationally broadcast as part of the King Biscuit Flower Hour radio series. Touring in support of his triple-platinum breakout album Don't Say No, Squier performed before a sold-out crowd during the exact window when his music videos transformed him into one of MTV's earliest rock superstars. #BillySquier #LonelyIsTheNight #DontSayNo #BobbyChouinard #ClassicRock #80sRock #SantaMonicaCivic #Live1981
