Speaking at a national consultation in Karwar, Karnataka, NFF General Secretary Olencio Simoes alleged that MSP could prioritise corporate and industrial interests over the rights of traditional fishers. He urged the Central and Goa governments to protect customary fishing rights and ensure meaningful consultation with fishing communities before implementing the plan. Simoes also warned that the NFF would launch a statewide agitation if MSP is introduced in Goa’s Exclusive Economic Zone without adequate safeguards for traditional fishing communities and their livelihoods. #NationalFishworkersForum #OlencioSimoes #MarineSpatialPlanning #TraditionalFishers #Goemkarponn Goemkarponn links https://www.facebook.com/goemkarponn https://www.instagram.com/goemkarponn/ https://x.com/goemkarponnlive
