I Couldn’t Stop Catching Fish Below This Spillway

Fishing below the Rogersville, Tennessee spillway turned into one of those days where the bite just kept getting better. I started the morning in my kayak testing out a new cast net and catching fresh threadfin shad for bait. After catching an early catfish on live bait, I switched things up and hooked into a big hybrid bass on an artificial lure. But the real action started when I began drifting the fresh shad I had caught with the cast net. Once I figured out the right drift, the catfish bite went crazy. Fish after fish started hammering the shad as I drifted below the spillway, turning the rest of the trip into nonstop catfish action.
