Description

In 2026, WildBrain quietly assembled new high definition "remasters" of some of the animated series from DiC Entertainment they currently hold the rights to as part of an initiative named “Upconverted Classics” - among them being Sonic the Hedgehog (more commonly referred to as Sonic SatAM to distinguish it from DiC's two other Sonic cartoons - Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog and Sonic Underground). Due to them not having direct access to film negatives of these programs because of Disney destroying the ones DiC had on standby during their ownership of the company, WildBrain took the easy - but messy - route by upscaling the shows from Betacam using A.I. Since MeTV Toons is receiving this series in six days using the new masters, I decided to put together a comparison of the show's intro between the raw untampered videotape prints of the program and the "restored" masters - so you know exactly what you're getting on the network regarding SatAM. The original master has been ripped from Paramount+, while the upscale in logoless quality was taken from WildBrain’s own website. Fuck. (YouTube Kids repellent)
