Description
Medicare Annual Enrollment Period is coming — and so is the Medicare noise.
If you have Medicare, October 15th is an important date. From October 15 through December 7, you'll start seeing more Medicare commercials, emails, letters, and phone calls telling you to change or switch your plan.
But here’s the important part:
AEP does not mean you have to change your Medicare plan. It means you have an opportunity to review your coverage and decide whether it still fits your situation.
In this video, we’ll talk about:
✅ What Medicare's Annual Enrollment Period really means
✅ Why the Medicare “noise” gets louder during AEP
✅ What the 794% Medicare Part D number really means
✅ Why you should not assume your premium is going up 794%
✅ Changes you need to watch for in your Medicare plan
✅ Why prescription drugs and pharmacy networks matter
✅ What to look for in your Annual Notice of Change
✅ Why the lowest premium doesn't necessarily mean the lowest overall cost
The 794% number
You may have heard that some Medicare Part D premiums increased by as much as 794% for 2026.
That number referred to individual plans — not every Part D plan and not every Medicare beneficiary. A large percentage increase can also look especially dramatic when a plan starts with a very low premium.
So don't make a Medicare decision based on a headline, a television commercial, or someone telling you they have the “best plan.”
Start with your situation.
Your doctors.
Your prescriptions.
Your pharmacy.
Your costs.
Your needs.
That's where the real Medicare decision begins.
My book
This video is based on the same philosophy behind my book:
Everything Medicare: How to Silence All the Medicare Noise — Part One
The goal isn't to add more noise. It's to help you understand Medicare so you can make informed decisions.
