About this video
The KTC Drivers and Allied Employees Association has served a strike notice on the management of Kadamba Transport Corporation Limited (KTCL), alleging failure to resolve long-pending employee grievances despite repeated written communications.
According to the notice dated October 16, 2026, drivers, conductors and other allied staff, including electric bus personnel, plan to go on strike from 12 midnight on November 12, 2026.
The association has raised 18 demands, including halting the new electronic ticketing machine system, regularising daily-wage and temporary employees who have completed five years of service, releasing pending salary arrears, bonuses and provident fund dues, revising electric bus drivers’ salaries, filling vacancies through promotions, procuring 300 new diesel buses and improving staff safety and rest facilities.
The association has also demanded an end to alleged arbitrary fines, victimisation of union members and artificial breaks in service. The proposed strike could affect KTCL bus operations if the dispute remains unresolved.
