Why the Jedi Council Thought DARTH SIDIOUS Was Just a MYTH

The Jedi Council spent years hunting Darth Sidious. Mace Windu traced the Sith Lord to a single building on Coruscant. He built a suspect list that included the Chancellor's closest advisors. He had circumstantial evidence pointing to Palpatine's inner circle. But the investigation never produced a name, because every layer of the conspiracy was designed to make the truth harder to use, not harder to find. Dooku's warning on Geonosis was delivered inside a recruitment pitch, poisoning the intelligence at its source. The dark side clouded the Force across the entire galaxy, burying Sidious's signal under billions of others. The clone army became too essential to investigate. The war scattered the Order across twenty Sector Armies, converting peacekeepers into generals who had no time to ask strategic questions. And Palpatine's public role as a wartime leader generated a constant stream of evidence that appeared to exonerate him. By the time the Jedi confirmed the Sith had created their army, they chose to bury that discovery rather than risk the Republic's survival. The Council did not fail because it thought Sidious was a myth. It failed because Sidious built a conspiracy where even correct answers led into new traps.
