Every Unanswered Question Before Doomsday Explained

Every Unanswered Question Before Doomsday Explained Shang-Chi has been missing from the MCU for five years, and Simu Liu is confirmed to return in Doomsday — reportedly trading blows with Channing Tatum's Gambit inside the X-Mansion, of all places. But before you get to that fight, there's unfinished business Marvel has never addressed. Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings ended with Wong pulling Shang-Chi and Katy into a Sanctum meeting alongside Bruce Banner and Carol Danvers, specifically to examine the Ten Rings — because their true origin doesn't match anything on record, mystical or alien. That meeting has never been followed up on screen. The rings were originally rumored to connect to Kang's own alien technology, but with Kang gone, that link has quietly disappeared, leaving the door wide open for Marvel to pull from the comics instead, where the rings actually originate from an alien world called Kakaranthara. Meanwhile, back in Shang-Chi's own family, his sister Xialing told him she was dismantling their father's criminal empire — and then secretly rebuilt it into her own organization the moment he walked away. So there are two live wires here: an ancient artifact giving off a signal nobody can identify, and the sister controlling it who's already proven she'll lie to your face. If Doom realizes what the rings are actually capable of, Shang-Chi might be walking into this movie already several steps behind.
