The Saint Lucians Were Never Who We Thought — Dna Revealed Their Hidden Ancestry

What are the real genetic origins of Saint Lucians? In this documentary, we explore Saint Lucia ancestry through DNA research, Caribbean history, and the migrations that shaped the island’s people. Discover how West and Central African ancestry, European ancestry, and Indigenous Caribbean heritage connect to the wider story of Saint Lucian identity. We examine the legacy of colonialism, the transatlantic slave trade, and centuries of cultural exchange across the Lesser Antilles. You’ll learn what population genetics can reveal about ancestry, admixture, and historical movement—and why no single DNA profile represents every Saint Lucian. From African roots to the island’s earlier Indigenous history, this journey separates scientific evidence from popular assumptions. We also explain the limits of genetic testing and why DNA results must be interpreted alongside historical records and community histories. Watch to explore the complex ancestry of Saint Lucians and the remarkable human story behind Saint Lucia’s diverse heritage. #saintluciakings #saintlucia #dna #genetics #ancestry #africanamerican #caribbeanhistory #humanorigins #genetichistory #africandiaspora #indigenous #dnaresearch
