Jonah and the Whale — Why He Ran from God | The Untold Story of Nineveh (Bible Film)

Jonah and the Whale — Why He Ran from God | The Untold Story of Nineveh (Bible Film) This Bible film brings one of the most dramatic Bible stories to life—the story of Jonah and the whale, the prophet who ran from God, was swallowed by a great fish, and was sent to warn the people of Nineveh. But Jonah's story is about more than a storm, a ship, and a great fish. God commanded Jonah to go to Nineveh and warn the city of coming judgment. Instead, Jonah ran in the opposite direction, boarding a ship toward Tarshish. Then everything changed. A terrifying storm struck the sea. The sailors fought for their lives. Jonah was discovered hiding below deck. And when he finally revealed the truth, he gave them an astonishing command: "Pick me up and throw me into the sea." What happened next would become one of the most unforgettable moments in Scripture. Jonah disappeared beneath the waves—but God provided a great fish. For three days and three nights, Jonah remained in the darkness of the deep. Then he was brought back to dry land and given the same command: Go to Nineveh. This time, Jonah obeyed. But Nineveh did something unexpected. The people listened. From the greatest to the least, they humbled themselves, fasted, and turned from their evil ways. Even the king left his throne, covered himself in sackcloth, and sat in ashes. And God showed mercy. But Jonah was furious. Why would a prophet become angry when an entire city was spared? Why did Jonah run from God in the first place? And what does God's final question to Jonah reveal about the heart of God? Experience the complete story of Jonah and the whale, from his flight and the terrifying storm to the great fish, Nineveh's repentance, Jonah's anger, and God's final unanswered question. --- ⏱️ TIMESTAMPS 00:00 — Jonah's Shocking Decision 00:42 — God Gives Jonah a Command 01:35 — Jonah Runs From God 02:28 — The Storm Begins 03:24 — The Sailors Discover Jonah 04:25 — "Throw Me Into the Sea" 05:18 — Jonah Is Thrown Overboard 06:08 — God Provides the Great Fish 07:05 — Three Days in the Darkness 08:12 — Jonah's Prayer From the Deep 09:05 — Jonah Returns to Dry Land 09:52 — God Gives Jonah the Command Again 10:25 — Jonah Goes to Nineveh 11:10 — Nineveh Repents 12:15 — God Shows Mercy 12:52 — Jonah Becomes Angry 13:32 — The Plant, the Worm, and the Wind 14:25 — God's Final Question 15:00 — The Unanswered Ending --- 📖 BIBLE REFERENCES: Jonah 1–4 2 Kings 14:25 🎬 KINGDOM STORIES Cinematic Bible stories brought to life through dramatic characters, historically grounded visuals, immersive action, and faith-centered storytelling.
