Description

Tuas Mega Port construction: how Singapore built the world's largest automated port on land created from the sea. Singapore runs out of land. So engineers dredged the Strait of Singapore and built 414 hectares of new land from it. Then they manufactured 221 hollow concrete caissons on-site — each 40 metres long, 15,000 tonnes, the height of a ten-storey building — floated every one to position and sank it 20 metres to the seabed to build the quay wall. This documentary covers the full Tuas Mega Port engineering and construction process — land reclamation, caisson fabrication and sinking, quay crane installation, AGV fleet deployment, and Phase 2 currently 80% built. What's in this video: How engineers built 414 hectares of reclaimed sea into solid ground for the Tuas Mega Port How 221 caissons were manufactured, floated, and sunk to the seabed to build 8.6km of quay wall How 1,000 driverless AGVs were built and deployed across the Tuas quay with no human drivers How Phase 2 — 387 more hectares, 227 more caissons — is 80% built right now in 2026 Subscribe to NEXTGEN MANUFACTURING to understand the incredible machines, blueprints, and megaprojects that built our world. #TuasMegaPort #Megaprojects #HowItsMade #Singapore #Engineering #Construction #FutureTechnology #Automation #GlobalTrade #Shipping #Maritime #FullProcess #Trending ⚠️ IMPORTANT: ABOUT THIS VIDEO ------------------------------------------------------------------- This is an educational documentary analyzing the engineering and construction of public infrastructure, based entirely on open-source information.
