How Blade Became Blade!

**How did Blade become the vampire-hunting Daywalker we know today?** Believe it or not, the original Blade from Marvel Comics was almost unrecognizable compared to the version made famous by Wesley Snipes! In this video, we're exploring the complete evolution of Blade, from his first appearance in Tomb of Dracula 10 in 1973 to his transformation into one of Marvel's most iconic supernatural heroes. Originally created by Marv Wolfman and Gene Colan, Blade started out as a relatively ordinary vampire hunter armed with wooden knives. No superhuman strength, no vampire powers, and certainly no Daywalker! We'll explore Blade's early comic book history, his encounters with Dracula and Morbius the Living Vampire, his reinvention alongside the Nightstalkers, and how *Spider-Man: The Animated Series* and the 1998 Wesley Snipes movie helped transform Blade into the character we recognize today. Along the way, we'll uncover the surprising origins of Whistler, the influence of 1970s blaxploitation films, and how Marvel eventually changed Blade's comic book powers to match his Hollywood counterpart. It took more than 25 years for Blade to become BLADE! Which version of Blade do YOU prefer? The original vampire killer or the modern Daywalker? Let me know in the comments!
