Description

On chilly days, there’s nothing more comforting and satisfying than a hot bowl of beef stew. But have you tried serving that beefy, vegetable-loaded stew inside an edible bread bowl? This fun dish lets you tear off pieces of the fresh-baked bread to dip and soak up every last drop of the savory broth. How to Make It 🥘 To cook the Stew: Brown the seasoned beef in a pot, sauté the onions and garlic, then add the vegetables, broth, and herbs. Simmer on low heat until the meat is tender and the sauce thickens. To bake to bread bowl, line small metal bowl with a flour-dusted lint-free cloth, or grease the exterior heavily with oil and flour. Place the inverted bowls (dough-side up) directly onto a parchment-lined baking sheet. Bake at 400°F (200°C) for 15–20 minutes until the crust turns golden brown. Assemble: Ladle the hot stew directly into the toasted bread bowl right before serving so the outer crust stays firm while the bottom bread absorbs the rich gravy. #bread #woodoven #stew #cooking
