Description

It is almost half past two in the morning on 6 July 1964, at a Green Beret camp in the mountains of central Vietnam. Hidden in the tall grass, more than eight hundred enemy soldiers are already crawling toward the wire. In ninety seconds, a white phosphorus round will tear the roof off the mess hall, and the first Medal of Honor of the Vietnam War will be earned right here, in the dark. This is the Battle of Nam Dong. A twelve-man Special Forces A-team, one Australian warrant officer and a few hundred strikers, some of whom turned their guns inward the moment the shooting started. Capt. Roger Donlon wounded four times and still moving between pits. Kevin Conway, Gabriel Alamo and John Houston, who did not come home. The loudspeaker silenced by a single mortar round. And why every advantage the attackers had still was not enough. Every claim sourced. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ 📕 THE BOOKS FROM TRUE VIETNAM DOCS First-time readers get a lower price, applied automatically at checkout ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ BOOK ONE · The Documented History of MACV-SOG in Vietnam ($7.99) The book mentioned in the video.
