The Philippines has Secret Money?!

Did you know the Philippines has a secret money? Back In 2021, the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas released a special banknote to mark the 500th anniversary of the Victory at Mactan. It commemorates the moment when native warriors, led by Lapu-Lapu, defeated the Spanish invaders under Ferdinand Magellan. Its market value can exceed its face value because of its rarity. Even though it is legal tender, it was mainly issued as a collectible and commemorative note, and not for everyday use. And That banknote is the ₱5,000 bill. The front features Lapu-Lapu, the Battle of Mactan, and a karakoa warship. The back shows the Philippine eagle, Mount Apo, and a coconut tree.. Today, this bill marks a key moment in Philippine history, making it one of the most interesting pieces of Philippine currency. #philippines #interesting #facts #interestingfacts #filipino #didyouknow #history #philippinehistory #education #money
