The Philippine Flag Got Banned?!

Did you know the Philippine flag got banned? It was actually banned in the Philippines itself. In 1907, during the American colonial period, the U.S. government passed the Flag Law, making the public display of the Philippine flag completely illegal. This was because the flag had become closely tied to the Filipino resistance movement and the fight for independence against the United States. Anyone caught displaying it could face heavy fines or even imprisonment. This ban lasted for about 12 years, until the law was finally repealed in 1919, finally allowing Filipinos to proudly display their own flag once again. #philippines #interesting #facts #interestingfacts #filipino #didyouknow #history #philippinehistory #flag #philippineflag #law
