Udham Singh | The Man Who Waited 21 Years for Justice

Udham Singh: The Man Who Waited 21 Years for Justice | 21 साल का इंतज़ार In this video, we uncover the extraordinary story of Udham Singh — a young man whose life was forever changed by the Jallianwala Bagh massacre of 1919. On 13 April 1919, thousands of people gathered at Jallianwala Bagh in Amritsar. What began as a peaceful gathering ended in one of the darkest chapters of British rule in India, when General Reginald Dyer ordered his troops to open fire on the unarmed crowd. Among those affected was Udham Singh. The video explores how the massacre shaped his life, how he travelled across countries, and how his search for justice continued for more than two decades. We follow his journey from Punjab to England, examine the people connected to the massacre, and uncover the events that eventually led him to Caxton Hall in London. In 1940, Udham Singh confronted Michael O’Dwyer, the former Lieutenant Governor of Punjab who had supported the actions taken after the massacre. What happened inside Caxton Hall became the final chapter of a journey driven by memory, sacrifice, and revenge. But Udham Singh’s story is not only about one act of retaliation. It is also about the victims of Jallianwala Bagh, the consequences of colonial brutality, and the question of how far one person can go in the pursuit of justice.
