The engine is paired with a MAN TipMatic 12.30 OD automated transmission featuring a torque converter clutch, allowing smooth starts under heavy loads and precise manoeuvring at very low speeds. This setup is particularly important when transporting cargo weighing hundreds of tonnes through challenging terrain or confined industrial areas. To withstand the demands of heavy-haulage operations, the 2026 MAN TGX 250t features specialised cooling systems, reinforced driveline components, high-capacity hydraulics and heavy-duty coupling equipment. Its four-axle 8x4/4 configuration provides the stability and traction required for transporting extraordinary loads, while its integrated engineering is designed to improve reliability and operational efficiency. The new heavy-duty tractor is produced at MAN's Munich manufacturing facility before undergoing specialised modifications at the company's Wittlich centre in Germany.
