Description

The first webcam became famous for watching… a coffee pot. ☕📹 In 1991, computer researchers at the University of Cambridge were tired of walking to a shared coffee machine only to discover the pot was empty. So they created a camera system that allowed them to check it from their desks. The tiny, grainy grayscale image initially updated only about three times per minute. Then in 1993, the feed became accessible through the World Wide Web and suddenly people around the world could watch the coffee pot too. The ordinary machine became an unlikely early internet celebrity, attracting around 2.4 million visits before the webcam was finally switched off in 2001. All because some researchers wanted to know one thing: “Is there any coffee left?” ☕😂 🌐 Discover more unbelievable facts: https://www.funandfactopedia.com #FunAndFactopedia #InternetHistory #TechnologyFacts #Webcam #amazingfacts #shorts
