When Celebrities were asked about Rowan Atkinson

Rowan Atkinson can make millions of people laugh without saying a word. But the man behind Mr Bean has always been harder to read. In this documentary, the people who performed beside him, wrote for him and watched him work explain what Rowan is actually like when the cameras are rolling—and when they stop. Ben Miller remembers working opposite a comedian with extraordinary control. Rosamund Pike describes herself as a genuine Rowan Atkinson fan. John Lloyd looks back at encountering his unusual talent before Mr Bean existed. Matilda Ziegler reveals how carefully Rowan constructed comedy that appeared completely spontaneous. Featuring rare interviews and archival footage from Hugh Laurie, Miranda Richardson, Tim McInnerny, Gillian Anderson, Olga Kurylenko, Daniel Kaluuya, Natalie Imbruglia and other celebrated performers. From the sharp cruelty of Blackadder to the physical chaos of Mr Bean and Johnny English, their stories reveal an intensely private, meticulous performer who could transform the smallest movement into a joke understood almost anywhere in the world. This is Rowan Atkinson, remembered by the people who were actually in the room.
