President Donald Trump Defends Putin Talks, Says Russia Has Done Little to Help Iran | AC15

US President Donald Trump speaks to reporters about the war in Ukraine, negotiations with Russia, Iran, Republican midterm campaigns and his upcoming trip to China for discussions on nuclear disarmament. Trump criticizes Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, arguing that Ukraine could have reached a settlement earlier and suggesting that it may be time for someone else to negotiate on Kyiv's behalf. He also discusses the human cost of the war and reiterates his view that ending the conflict should be a priority. On Iran, Trump says Russia and China have provided less assistance than they could have, describing their limited involvement as a positive development. He also defends past US military assistance to Ukraine, highlighting the Javelin anti-tank weapons supplied during his first presidency. Turning to US politics, Trump explains why he is traveling to Kansas to campaign for Republican Senator Roger Marshall. He touts his campaign rallies, expresses confidence about the midterm elections and questions the accuracy of some political polls. Trump also repeats his criticism of media coverage and polling organizations, while saying he intends to pursue nuclear disarmament discussions during his planned November trip to China.
