Description

NEVER Throw Away Your Amazon Boxes Again - Try This Old Appalachian Potato Trick There's a box sitting on your porch right now that can grow you a real crop of potatoes. No yard, no tiller, no money. In 1943, twenty million American families planted Victory Gardens wherever they found ground. Today that same kind of know-how goes straight into the recycling bin. Last season I planted two plain cardboard boxes on the back patio, one big and one small, and followed them from seed to harvest. In this video I walk you through every step: the box to pick and the stamp to check on the bottom, the free layer that holds water all summer, why grocery store potatoes often won't grow, the one fold that keeps a wet box from splitting, how and when to hill, the sign on the plant that tells you to stop, and the little striped beetle that showed me the same mistake that starved Ireland in 1845. Then we cut the boxes open and see what came out. None of this faded because it quit working. It faded because somebody makes money every time you buy the thing instead of saving it. That's not on you, friend. If you want the old ways kept alive, subscribe and turn on notifications so you don't miss the next one. We're digging a potato clamp, the hole in the ground that kept families fed through winter long before anybody owned a refrigerator. Tell me in the comments: did your grandparents grow potatoes in a crate, a barrel, or an old tire? The one that gets the most comments is the one I build next. Stay on the ridge with me. Keep the old ways they kept. #growingpotatoes #containergardening #homesteading #selfreliance #victorygarden #growyourownfood #gardeninghacks #oldways #appalachia #frugalliving
