One ordinary door. A completely different world behind it.
In this tutorial, I create THRESHOLD, a cinematic short about a character stepping from a plain apartment into a glowing forest. Starting with a room photo and visual references, I build the scene in CapCut Video Studio and finish the picture and sound inside CapCut PC.
I use Nano Banana Pro to generate the character-at-the-door image, the bioluminescent forest corridor, and the door-handle close-up. Then I create a custom Skill to reuse the project's character, lighting, and visual direction, and generate a 30-second scene with Seedance 2.5.
After transferring the footage with Edit more on CapCut Desktop, I use AI Extend to continue the forest sequence by ten seconds. I then compare takes, trim repeated movements, and refine the pacing of the doorway reveal.
The sound-design workflow adds a handle click, door creak, atmospheric whoosh, and instrumental music. I use Edit Pilot to lower selected sound-effects clips by 12 decibels, then make a separate adjustment to the selected music clips while leaving the other tracks unchanged.
You'll hear the audio mix before and after those adjustments. I also generate Auto Captions, check the whispered dialogue, and adjust the caption timing, font, size, and color before playing the completed film.
This video is sponsored by CapCut. THRESHOLD is an original fictional short-film demonstration.

Planned support for up to six audio references—from local uploads or the voice library—and audio generation up to six minutes long will help creators produce multi-character conversations and longer audio works. This is an upcoming capability, not a feature used to create the film shown here.
What would be waiting on the other side of your door? Tell me in the comments—and share whether continuity, pacing, or sound is the biggest challenge in your own films.
