Description

Lebanese Jazz · Beirut, As for Tomorrow… | 1 Hour Ziad Rahbani-Inspired Jazz A one-hour journey through *Lebanese jazz, jazz-funk, orchestral soul and the sounds of 1970s Beirut*, inspired by the musical world of *Ziad Rahbani*. Ziad Rahbani (1956–2025) was a Lebanese composer, pianist and playwright who helped create a uniquely Lebanese musical language by bringing together *jazz, funk, Arabic melodies, classical orchestration and improvisation*. His work pushed Lebanese music into new territory, with sophisticated harmony and unmistakably Beirut character. *Beirut, As for Tomorrow…* is also a small tribute to Rahbani’s famous play *Bennesbeh Labokra Chou?* (بالنسبة لبكرا شو؟ / What About Tomorrow?), a work closely associated with his music, theatre and observations of everyday Lebanese life. This mix takes inspiration from that musical spirit: warm Rhodes, electric bass, dry live drums, funky guitar, expressive saxophone, sweeping strings, brass, woodwinds and subtle touches of ney and buzok, blended with Lebanese melodic phrasing and rich jazz harmony. Expect energetic funk rhythms, cinematic orchestral passages, playful theatrical changes and moments of quiet melancholy — all shaped around the sound and atmosphere of Beirut. Perfect for late-night listening, studying, reading, working, or simply letting the music play. *Original instrumental music inspired by the style and musical atmosphere of Ziad Rahbani — no vocals.* Tracklist 0:00 — Baalbek Tape Break 4:33 — Theatre After Midnight 8:44 — A City That Stayed Awake 11:09 — Wind Over Beirut 15:21 — Beirut Velvet Groove 20:46 — Beyrouth Brass Circuit 26:48 — Three Floors Above Hamra 33:27 — Cedar Street Syncopation 38:01 — Hamra After Hours 43:38 — Beirut Brass Alley 48:57 — Cedar Fox Tuxedo 52:54 — Velvet on Bliss Street 57:19 — Cedar Groove Parade 1:01:43 — West Beirut Nights #LebaneseJazz #ZiadRahbani #JazzFunk #BeirutJazz #ArabicJazz #JazzFusion Video made in: https://vizzy.io Project by: - Nightfall Tapes
