MOVIE SYNOPSIS: Set against the bustling backdrop of Italy's post-war "economic miracle," Alberto Nardi (Alberto Sordi) is an incompetent industrialist with monumental ambitions but zero business acumen. Constantly failing and piling up astronomical debts, Alberto survives entirely on the wealth of his shrewd, domineering, and successful wife, Elvira (Franca Valeri), who never misses an opportunity to mock his ineptitude. When news arrives that Elvira was aboard a catastrophic train derailment, Alberto celebrates what he believes is the ultimate windfall. Convinced that his sudden status as a wealthy widower will finally make him the "man of importance" he always dreamed of being, he prepares to take over her fortune. However, when Elvira unexpectedly walks back into his life completely unharmed, a desperate Alberto gathers an equally incompetent crew of accomplices to concoct a diabolical plan to make his bachelorhood permanent. A razor-sharp, laugh-out-loud masterpiece of Italian dark comedy (Commedia all'italiana). 🎭 If you love golden age Italian cinema, sharp satirical comedies, and legendary performances by Alberto Sordi, please LIKE, leave a COMMENT, and SUBSCRIBE (🔔) to our channel for more timeless classic movies in HD! ⏱️ MOVIE CHAPTERS (TIMESTAMPS): 00:00:00 - Movie Start: Alberto Nardi's failed business ventures 00:15:30 - Elvira's razor-sharp wit and financial control 00:32:15 - The train disaster: Alberto thinks he's a widower 00:48:40 - Celebrating newfound freedom and inherited wealth 01:04:20 - The shock return: Alberto hatches a desperate plot 01:19:50 - The botched murder scheme & Hilarious backfire 01:27:00 - The final twist & End credits TECHNICAL SPECS AND CAST: - Title: The Widower (Original Title: Il vedovo) - Release Year: 1959 - Director: Dino Risi - Screenplay: Dino Risi, Fabio Carpi, Sandro Continenza, Rodolfo Sonego, Luciano Martino - Genre: Italian Comedy / Commedia all'italiana / Satire / Black Comedy - Video Quality: Full HD 1080p - Audio/Subtitles: Original Italian Audio / Multiple Subtitles Available (CC) Main Cast: Alberto Sordi (Alberto Nardi) Franca Valeri (Elvira Almiraghi) Livio Lorenzon (Stucchi) Nando Bruno (Gotrun) Mario Carotenuto (Lallo) Leonora Ruffo (Gioia) TAGS / KEYWORDS (SEO MAX 8): the widower 1959 full movie, il vedovo full movie, alberto sordi, franca valeri, dino risi, commedia all italiana, classic italian comedy, free full movies.
