When You Hire A Comedian To Act As A Criminal

Check out our Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/033Gp5RjshSXsqVOrRESIt When you picture the most ruthless drug kingpin in television history, the last person you'd imagine is the goofy, roller-skating dad from Malcolm in the Middle. In this video, we break down how Bryan Cranston pulled off one of the greatest acting transformations ever, and the brutal behind-the-scenes battle it took just to get him the role. We cover the whole story. The sitcom stigma that made network executives refuse to see him as anything but a comedian. The forgotten X-Files episode that became Vince Gilligan's secret weapon, the single VHS tape that changed every executive's mind. How Cranston reverse-engineered Walter White from the ground up, patterning his posture, voice, and even his sad little mustache after his own elderly father to build a man at total rock bottom. The way he weaponized his comedy background as a shield, disarming the audience while the monster grew underneath. And the crawl space breakdown, the exact moment the pathetic comedian died on screen and Heisenberg took over. Sixteen Emmys later, the casting joke nobody wanted became legend.
