Description
Would Phone Guy’s advice actually help you survive Five Nights at Freddy’s if you played it for the very first time with no background knowledge? I went through every single phone call in FNaF 1, checking his tips against the game code, movement timers, and AI values. He’s getting a full-on performance review!
Turns out, Phone Guy might be one of the worst tutorials in gaming history. From completely misunderstanding how Foxy works to completely ignoring Freddy Fazbear himself, here is what happens when you follow his instructions to a T!
Of course, this is all in good fun. I love FNaF, and clearly, millions of people have beat FNaF just fine at this point. The point is not actually to hold Scott Cawthon up to crazy levels. I fully understand that he was just an independent developer on the verge of quitting at the time of making the first FNaF. It’s all love here! :P
Please let me know if you want another one of these kinds of videos for FNaF 2. That game has so many more incredible mechanics I’d love to cover!

(I unfortunately cannot put a link, but the technical fnaf wiki was instrumental in making this video)
Also, not an info source, but Toy Bon Bon Games' playthrough of FNaF 1 was used for a lot of background footage: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XA81TZZTVIw
