The Mormon Church: How a Radical American Faith Went Global - Full Documentary

It began with a handful of believers in 19th-century America. Today, it has millions of followers, secret temple rituals, and wealth measured in the tens of billions. ⛪ Two centuries ago, a new Christian movement emerged in the United States. Founded by Joseph Smith, Mormonism introduced a new scripture, new rituals, and a radically different vision of family, salvation and the afterlife. Its early history was marked by persecution, migration, controversy and the practice of plural marriage. Yet over time, the movement transformed itself into a global church with millions of members and temples across the world. Behind its public image lies a religious culture built around distinctive ceremonies, missionary expansion, genealogy and proxy baptisms for the dead. Its financial power is also extraordinary, supported by tithing and vast institutional assets. But today, the church faces new challenges. Younger members increasingly question traditional teachings, historical claims and conservative social values, even as the faith continues to expand in parts of Africa and South America. This documentary explores the true history, rituals, controversies and global rise of Mormonism — and asks how one of America’s most unusual religious movements became a worldwide institution. 🔔 Subscribe now and hit the notification bell to embark on a journey of knowledge and discovery with us.
