Inside Jehovah’s Witnesses: What Really Happens Behind Closed Doors? - Full Documentary

Millions know them for the knock at the door. But behind that familiar image lies a highly organized world governed by its own beliefs, rules and hierarchy. What happens when someone decides to leave? 🚪 They are recognized around the world for one familiar image: two Jehovah’s Witnesses knocking at the door. But what happens behind those doors? From modest beginnings in 19th-century America, Jehovah’s Witnesses have grown into a worldwide religious organization. Their own 2025 figures report more than 9.2 million active publishers across 241 countries and territories, organized into almost 120,000 congregations. Behind this global expansion lies a tightly structured community with distinctive beliefs governing preaching, family life, medical decisions and relations with former members. The organization is directed worldwide by a Governing Body, while local congregations are overseen by bodies of elders. Through testimony from former members, survivors and specialists, this documentary investigates the controversies that have followed the movement—including ostracism of former members and the handling of child sexual-abuse allegations. An Australian Royal Commission found serious failures in the organization's historical response to such allegations, including finding no evidence in its case study that allegations had been reported to police or other civil authorities. From faith and obedience to family, power and the consequences of leaving, go inside the controversial world of Jehovah’s Witnesses. 🔔 Subscribe now and hit the notification bell to embark on a journey of knowledge and discovery with us.
