The Indonesians Were Never Who We Thought — Dna Revealed Their Hidden Ancestry

Indonesian DNA reveals a far more complex ancestry than many people realize. In this video, we explore the hidden genetic history of Indonesia and the ancient populations that shaped the Indonesian people. Modern Indonesian ancestry reflects thousands of years of migration, mixing, isolation, and cultural change across one of the most diverse archipelagos on Earth. Recent ancient DNA research reveals a fascinating genetic divide between western and eastern Indonesia, with different contributions from ancient Southeast Asian, Austronesian, and Papuan-related populations. The Austronesian expansion spread widely across the region, but it did not erase older genetic ancestry. Instead, multiple waves of migration created the complex DNA profile seen across Indonesia today. From ancient Southeast Asia to the Pacific, this story reveals how Indonesian genetics connects to a much deeper human history. Watch until the end to discover what ancient DNA tells us about Indonesian origins, ancestry, migration, and the forgotten populations that helped shape Indonesia. #indonesia #indonesianationalteam #indonesia #ancientdna #dnahistory #genetics #ancientancestors #austronesian #papuanews #southeastasian #humanmigration #genetichistory
