Description

Why is this mechanic using a razor blade on an engine piston?! 🤬⚙️ As your car burns fuel and oil, a thick layer of rock-hard, black carbon sludge bakes onto the top of the engine pistons! If this carbon gets too thick, it causes premature detonation and massive horsepower loss. To clean it, mechanics usually soak the pistons in harsh chemicals. But this mechanic chose a highly controversial shortcut! They take a sharp steel utility blade and manually scrape the thick layer of carbon directly off the face of the piston! As the blade shaves the sludge away, it reveals the shiny aluminum hidden underneath! While it looks incredibly satisfying, engine builders are furious because scratching the soft aluminum piston with a steel blade can completely destroy the engine!
