Description

Settle in for a journey across Madagascar, an island split into two opposite worlds where people and wildlife live by different rules. The reason is a granite spine more than 620 miles long. Trade winds drop their rain on its eastern slopes and leave the west and south dry. In the dry south, fewer than one person in four has steady access to drinking water. Farmers in the wet northeast pollinate each vanilla flower by hand. The fossa, the island's largest predator, and the indri, the largest lemur still alive, are found nowhere else on Earth. This 4K travel documentary visits 18 places, including the Avenue of the Baobabs, the stone forest of Tsingy de Bemaraha and the royal hill of Ambohimanga. You will learn what living in Madagascar asks of Sakalava farmers, Vezo fishermen and highland families. The film also shows how old beliefs still protect some of the island's rarest animals. #traveldocumentary #madagascar #livinginmadagascar #madagascar4k
