About Video:-
a centrifugal pump cannot lift water from unlimited depth, no matter how powerful its motor is. in practical conditions, it normally fails beyond a suction depth of around 7 to 8 metres because the pump does not actually pull water. it creates low pressure at the inlet, while atmospheric pressure pushes the water towards the pump.
a submersible pump solves this limitation by operating inside the water and pushing it upwards. its multiple impellers and diffusers increase the water pressure stage by stage, allowing it to supply water from deep borewells.
the complete working of centrifugal and submersible pumps is covered through the impeller, volute casing, diffuser stages, priming, cavitation and check valve. the internal construction of the submersible induction motor is also covered, including the squirrel cage rotor, bushes, thrust bearing, graphite pads and motor cooling system.
