Description

My name is Darlene Hollis. I cooked in a school kitchen for thirty-five years, and I learned exactly what keeps mice out. You threw out the chewed cornmeal and scrubbed the pantry. The mouse came back anyway. That's because this was never a cleaning problem. It's a carpentry problem. If a gap will pass a nickel, it will pass a grown mouse. An Amish farmer told Ray they don't fight the mouse, they fix the building. You pack every gap tight with coarse steel wool, about two dollars a pack. A mouse can't chew through it. My whole setup came to about eight dollars, once. A pest service plan runs four hundred eighty dollars a year. In this video I show you the nickel walk, where to pack the steel wool, how to set snap traps safe from pets, and where this method falls short. WHAT YOU WILL NEED Coarse steel wool, grade three, about $2 Tube of caulk, about $4 Wooden snap traps, about $2 for a four-pack A nickel and a flashlight A WORD OF CAUTION Don't use poison with animals in the house. If mice are already breeding inside, trap before you seal. If it sounds heavier than a mouse, call somebody. Subscribe and I'll keep putting up the plain ways of keeping a house that have never been for sale. #mice #mouseproofing #steelwool #pestcontrol #amish #homesteading #petsafe #oldwaysworkbetter
