Where Is It Hardest to Find a Job? (2026)

In this video, we show the unemployment rate in every country using an animated world map. Discover how unemployment varies around the world, from countries with relatively low unemployment rates to those where a larger share of the workforce is looking for a job. Explore regional differences and see how the global job market compares across countries in 2026. This video is based on publicly available international labour market statistics, including estimates from the International Labour Organization (ILO). The unemployment rate measures the percentage of the labour force that is unemployed and actively seeking work. Figures for 2026 may include estimates or projections, and data availability can vary between countries. Unemployment rates do not tell the whole story of a country's job market. They do not fully capture underemployment, informal work, job security, wages, or people who have stopped looking for work. Differences in how countries collect and report labour market data can also affect comparisons. The goal of this video is to visualize global differences in unemployment through a clear and engaging world map animation.
