I am forty-six years old, and I have never voted. Not for a prime minister, not for a premier, and not once on the colony where I have lived for twenty-six years. The women of Alberta won the vote in 1916. More than a hundred years later, I have never used it. And yet the women on a colony do change the rules. Not with a ballot.
