We Spent 9 Days Transforming This Neglected Rural Home

This time, we traveled to a rural home in northeastern China to help a family of four restore their living space. The home had several rooms that had been left unused, a kitchen that had been damaged by fire, walls covered in grease and tape residue, and rooms filled with belongings that had accumulated over time. The family was already carrying a lot. The couple were caring for an elderly bedridden family member and a young child, while also managing their daily life and farm work. Keeping the house clean was simply not easy for them. So we spent 9 days working through the home, one room at a time. We cleared out the unused west room, cleaned and repainted the walls, restored the kitchen, replaced an unsafe electrical outlet, cleaned the east room, organized the storage rooms, washed the family's bedding, and finished by giving the floors and outdoor areas a thorough cleanup. It was a long and challenging process, but little by little, the home began to feel different.
