The secrets to managing your home like the Japanese 👉🏻 https://mayasato.org/
Ten fall cleaning jobs that close a house for winter.
---
Before the windows close for winter, I walk through ten Japanese fall cleaning jobs: greasy cabinet tops without a ladder, stainless steel without streaks, range hood filters, baked-on oven door glass, a slow bathroom drain, faucet scale, shower glass, entryway grout, shoe cubbies and odor, curtains, screens and sliding door tracks. Cheap tools, honest results, four viral tricks that failed.
---
Recipe & exact doses — 18:12
High places: 2 level tbsp (30 ml) multipurpose cleaner, undiluted, on the dry pad
Stainless steel: 3 short sprays foaming glass cleaner per dinner-plate patch, dry cloth
Hood filters: 1 level tbsp (15 ml) dish soap in 4 L hot water
Oven glass: 1 level tbsp (12 g) Bar Keepers Friend + 1 level tsp (5 ml) water, toothpaste-thick paste
Drain: snake first, then 1 kettle (1.5 L) boiling water in 3 pours; 2nd kettle after 10 min if needed
Faucet: 1 cup (250 ml) white vinegar in a bag, 20 min
Brush holder: 200 ml Pine-Sol, undiluted
Shower wand: 1 part dish soap : 2 parts vinegar (50 ml + 100 ml)
Grout: 50 ml (¼ cup) toilet bowl cleaner per m², door open; rinse by wiping, 2 L water + wrung towels
Shoe cubbies: 1 open box baking soda (450 g)
Screens: 1 level tsp (5 ml) dish soap in 1 L warm water
