Description
Most people who describe a house burglary afterward give the same number: 8 to 12 minutes inside, then out, whether or not anything was found. That timing is the entire vulnerability this video is built around. A man moving through a stranger's home isn't searching room by room, he's running through a short, near-identical checklist that works in house after house: bedside drawers, dresser, under the mattress, closet shelf, freezer, cistern, sock drawer, jewelry box. If your valuables sit in any of those spots, the video explains why that list is so consistent, and what to move before going further.
From there it covers fifteen places that don't appear on that checklist, drawn from people who spent careers thinking about concealment: a hollowed-out book set at chest height on a full shelf, the hollow space above an interior door frame, a sealed container buried under a house plant's root ball, a false bottom built into a drawer, cash sewn into a curtain hem, an envelope taped to a drawer's underside, a blank switch plate over an empty wall box, the ceiling space above a closet's top shelf, a coffee tin of screws in a cluttered garage, a toy box in a child's room, the space under a carpeted stair tread, a coat pocket in a full wardrobe, and the gap behind a wall clock's face or a picture's backing board.
It closes with the two habits that undo all of it, telling more than one person, and keeping everything in a single spot, plus one habit worth building regardless: photographing what you own before any of this becomes relevant.
