Description

For my generation, the gateway to the world of anime was via Cartoon Network and Toonami. And I vividly remember when Toonami experimented a lot with its anime broadcast, bringing in a range of versatile, if not niche anime to our screens. But the broadcast method combined with the attempts to bridge a cultural gap and poor business decisions often led to random cancellations of shows. This brings me to creating this video where I have made a list of ten such anime who were dropped by Cartoon Network midway. While some works had negative reception, explaining why the viewership was low, there were also anime that simply struggled due to bad marketing and that’s the tough part because sometimes you are super invested. And you wait for the slot to follow through with a story, only to find out that it just does not exist on the channel anymore. And this is back when streaming did exist but it was not the norm. So you just had to let it go unless you got lucky and found a complete DVD, which would again, be on the pricier side for a school student.
