MAZI IKENGA THE MISER PART 1 | Full Story | Africa Folktales

He tucked a stolen goat into his own bed, wrapped its head in his late wife's scarf, and told an entire village it was a sick aunt from Enugu. Wait until you hear what the goat did next. Welcome to Part 1 of the Mazi Ikenga series, an African storytime from Okoli village. Mazi Ikenga is a miser who would rather drink a bowl of fire than give away seven yams. When the New Yam Festival arrives, his sneaky Feast Walk unravels one lie at a time, until the Chief Priest's missing sacred goat is lying in his bedroom. But beneath the laughter is something quieter: a daughter who still believes her father has a conscience, a lie that costs far more than the truth ever would, and a door closed so softly it echoes louder than any slam. If you love Nigerian village stories, Igbo folktales and moral stories about greed, this one will make you laugh and think.
