Description

In 2000, American pediatricians told parents to keep peanuts, eggs and dairy away from at-risk babies for years. By 2008, that advice was withdrawn. Peanut allergy in American children still climbed from 0.4% in 1997 to 1.4% by 2008, and roughly 1 in 13 kids now has a food allergy. This video traces the advice, the 2015 trial that overturned it, and the 4 things pediatric guidance has reversed since, including when to introduce peanut and what a baby's eczema actually means. It is a follow-up to my earlier video on the same rise, with one part corrected and one part I left out the first time. More on the studies behind this, including a few that failed, is free at growingupunseen.com.
