Description
In the 1850s a young man stepped off a riverboat at the St. Louis levee with almost no money and almost no schooling. Forty years later Samuel Cupples was one of the richest men in the Midwest, and the house he built on West Pine Boulevard still looks like a castle dropped into the middle of the city.
