Every BANNED Dog Breed in America Explained (And Which Bans Are Wrong)

America has no single national dog-breed ban—only a patchwork of local laws, insurance policies, landlord rules, HOA restrictions, and housing regulations. In this video, I examine the breeds that most often appear on those lists and compare what the rules claim with what I’ve seen in real dogs. I cover: • Why pit bull bans often fail—and why “pit bull type” can be impossible to define • Rottweilers, German Shepherds, Akitas, Cane Corsos, and Huskies • The reasoning behind Britain’s XL Bully law • Why size, containment, and owner experience matter • When wolf hybrid restrictions make sense • How insurance companies can affect where you live with your dog • Where breed bans are unfair, where they may be partly justified, and the one ban I would sign myself 0:00 How Breed Bans Work 0:42 Why Pit Bull Bans Fail 2:46 Rottweilers as Farm Guardians 4:57 German Shepherds on Insurance Lists 6:50 Akitas Are Selective Guardians 8:03 Cane Corsos Need Experienced Owners 9:24 Huskies Are Difficult to Contain 10:14 Britain’s XL Bully Law 11:12 Size Makes Gentle Giants Risky 12:23 Why Wolf Hybrid Restrictions Make Sense 13:16 When Insurance Lists Your Dog 14:53 Safety and Legal Boundaries #DogBreeds #BreedBans #DogSafety #Dogs #DogLaw
