Description

THE BARN FIND BIBLE, the maker marks, the caps, the dating rules and the real sold prices, all in one place: https://barnfindbible.com/ Eight dollars. That is what I paid for a Montgomery Ward box in the attic of a farmhouse outside Strawberry Point, Iowa. The family had already carried the good ornaments downstairs. Down at the bottom, wrapped in brown tissue, was a little gold horse pulling a sleigh that weighed nothing at all. It was paper. An old ornament carries its maker in the cap, the little metal crown that gets lost or swapped onto the wrong ball, and in the glass itself. Almost nobody looks. Most ornaments in most attics are a dollar or a few dollars each, and I say so plainly. The box grandmother guarded is rarely the valuable one. Every big number in this video is called what it is, the exception. In this video: The boxed glass balls of the fifties and sixties The early Hallmark Keepsake ornaments The clip on glass birds Shiny Brite Victorian wire wrapped glass The cast iron Christmas tree stand Spun cotton figures German kugels German glass figurals Dresden ornaments And at the end, four things to check before that box goes anywhere: the wrong cap on the right ball, the attic heat, the reproduction kugels, and why you keep the box. I am a picker, not an appraiser, and I do not put a number on things other people own. Every price here is a range off real sold results. So tonight, go up to the attic and turn every cap over. Then tell me in the comments what is stamped on the cap of yours, and where you are watching from. I answer every single one. Otis
