Zimbabwe's Prophets Under the Microscope Prophecy, Prayer & Power

# DID GOD REALLY SAY THAT? | PRAY FOR SO-AND-SO! When a prophet announces a tragedy and then tells believers to pray, an uncomfortable question arises: **Did God reveal an unavoidable future, issue a warning, or was the prediction simply wrong?** In this Zimwaves TV documentary, we examine the biblical foundations of prophecy, the power of prayer, and the growing influence of modern prophets in Zimbabwe. From the story of King Hezekiah to Jonah's warning to Nineveh, the Bible raises fascinating questions about whether prophecy can be conditional and whether prayer and repentance can change an announced outcome. We also examine the public ministries and influence of prominent Zimbabwean religious figures, including Emmanuel Makandiwa, Ian Ndlovu, Walter Magaya, Uebert Angel, and Talent Chiwenga. Against the backdrop of Zimbabwe's political and religious landscape, we ask: - Can prayer change a prophecy? - How should Christians test prophetic claims? - What separates a divine warning from a failed prediction? - Why do some prophets enjoy close relationships with political leaders and wealthy businesspeople? - When should believers demand evidence rather than explanations after the event? **BIBLE VERSES EXAMINED** 📖 Isaiah 38:1 — Hezekiah's death announcement 📖 Jonah 3:4 — Nineveh's coming destruction 📖 Jeremiah 18:7–8 — Conditional judgment 📖 Genesis 20:7 — Prophetic intercession 📖 Matthew 2:13 — Joseph warned in a dream 📖 1 Timothy 2:1–2 — Praying for leaders 📖 1 Samuel 16:1 — Samuel and Saul 📖 1 Thessalonians 5:20–21 — Testing everything 📖 1 John 4:1 — Testing the spirits 📖 Deuteronomy 18:21–22 — Recognising false prophecy This documentary distinguishes biblical teaching, documented public statements, allegations, and commentary.
